Rooted in and propelled by the love of Jesus Christ, we, the people of St. Simon of Cyrene Catholic Parish, one Parish Family with ministry sites at St. Agatha & St. Martin de Porres Churches, profess a life-giving, all- embracing faith, fostering full participation in worship that nourishes us to care for one another and extend our lived faith, relentless hope and life-giving love to our Westside Communities.

We pride ourselves in honoring the legacy of Christ’s love through our welcoming spirit, our vibrant liturgies with soul-stirring contemporary Gospel music, comforting and challenging preaching, and our care for each other. This strengthens us to then engage our brothers and sisters in the surrounding communities with direct assistance and with programs that strengthen community families and address the social challenges and inequities that stem from systemic racism, mutually empowering all of us: We empower parents, youth, returning citizens and elders through our active engagement with programs that uplift them physically, emotional, spiritually and materially; and they empower us by allowing us to share the fullness of our gifts as Christ would have us do as His disciples.

Through us, when we are at our best, those we serve encounter the loving and life-giving presence of Christ within us as we, in turn, are touched by the Christ within them.
