Ways to Advance the Work of Justice and Support Each Other at this Time

Resources for Spiritual and Mental Wellbeing

  1. Communicate with family and friends daily over the phone, via FaceTime or by text. Although it is imperative that we continue to practice social distancing, it’s important that we remain in touch with our loved ones and that we regularly check-in on family members and friends who struggle with anxiety and other mental health concerns.

  2. Regularly practice prayer and meditation by carving out a few minutes each day in the morning, afternoon or evening for prayer or meditation. Actively open yourself up to God’s presence during this time. This could be done through prayer, reflection, meditation, talking a walk or doing a number of things that put your mind, body and spirit at peace.

  3. Listen to podcasts and read books that help put you at ease and encourage learning and growth. This is one of the best ways to occupy long hours at home and to continue growing spiritually and intellectually during this time. Here are a few places that we recommend for good podcasts in English and Spanish:

  4. Reach out and offer to do a good deed. Social distancing doesn’t mean forgetting to be human and compassionate. Check in on your neighbors who are elderly or particularly vulnerable. While being prudent and cautious we can still offer a helping hand to those in need by dropping off extra food at their home or sending a care package to friends and family.
